Based on satellite and webcam views, the Buenos Aires VAAC reported that during 28 January-2 February Copahue generated almost continuous steam plumes containing minor amounts of ash that rose to altitudes of 3-3.6 km (10,000-12,000 ft) a.s.l.
and drifted as far as 160 km SE and SW.
